Safer Internet Day 2015 - Let's create a better Internet together.
On the day, a number of schools were represented by both students and teachers, as well as parents, partners and policy makers. The students were given a detailed background on Safer Internet Day (SID) and Google's aim to support the event, going forward. Dignitaries and keynote speakers went on to advice students on the importance of Online Safety.
After this, participants were broken into 5 groups and given the task to brainstorm and proffer solutions to some of the challenges people face while using the internet. Each group was given 5 minutes to present their solutions. The winning group received prizes and also got the opportunity to share their presentation with the other participating countries - South Africa, Senegal and Kenya - via Google Hangout.
