Rangers traditionally guard parks and other areas of natural beauty. In Google, some modern day rangers - call them Web-Rangers - aim instead to keep the Internet safe. This project is targeted to teenagers, age 15-17 who will campaign for safe use of the internet in their communities, after participating in a workshop organised by Google and partners, where they learn about online safety and campaigning.

The teens are challenged to make the best use of their social influence and spread their newly acquired knowledge and skills among other teens and children. This includes, producing educational videos and distribute them online, create lesson plans, workshops, presentations and more.
